Introducing Koda
Meet the cute golden retriever behind the scenes
Hello, I'm Koda, a 3 year old red golden retriever that was adopted by Juliana and Trey as a puppy. And as you can see by my portrait, I'm just as patriotic as they are.
Over my three years of life I've acquired some pretty specific tastes. Specifically around my food. I only eat a raw food diet. On top of meals, I require a cheese tax as well as a tax on any pieces of chicken breast that contain what the humans call "gross". Tastes fine to me so I don't know what they're complaining about.
I require two walks a day as well as time to play fetch and roll around in the dirt outside. I can read a clock and know exactly when we should be going outside each day. I make sure to remind Juliana and Trey because they will sometimes try to put it off if it's "about to rain" as if that is any reason to stay inside. Dirt and mud are both fun so I don't care.
They've given me many toys over the years but there's only 2 I really need, my tennis ball and my antler. I've chewed 3 elk antlers down to the nub, it keeps me occupied. I also push all my tennis balls under the couch to keep Juliana and Trey occupied. Sometimes they're "working" or "watching tv" and need to be kept active. This exercise trains them to stand up every few minutes to make sure they're healthy.
They take me on occasional trips to the park or the beach. I've been to a couple different states too over the years. I'm not big on being in water. Doesn't matter if it's a shower or the ocean. Not a huge fan of being wet, just don't see what all the fuss is about.
Personal hygiene is very important to me. I require my teeth to be brushed daily. Usually just sitting in the bathroom and staring at Juliana while she brushes her teeth is enough of a reminder that mine need brushed as well. I also love paw massages. My paws are always exhausted and dry from moving around the house to all my favorites spots to sleep so it helps to get a paw balm massage to make them nice and smooth again.
Anyways, that's enough about me. I'll be sure to give recommendations about dog friendly travel as well as the things I recommend using while traveling and at home.
